'Perfect for Conte': Sky pundit tells Tottenham to sign 'fantastic' PL star available for just £20m
Jamie O’Hara has urged Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore this month.
The January transfer window is open now and Spurs fans are excited to see what Conte will do in the coming weeks. This is the Italian’s first opportunity to change the squad to his liking, and it really will be interesting to see the business he decides to do.
Tottenham have been linked with plenty of top-quality players over the last few weeks. From Ousmane Dembele to Dusan Vlahovic, the rumour mill has been very active, but the most realistic deal among all is arguably one for Wolves’ Traore.
O’Hara, who spent six years as a Tottenham player, believes that the Spaniard would be ‘fantastic’ under Conte.

Jamie O’Hara: Adama Traore would be a superb signing for Tottenham
The pundit said on Sky Sports yesterday: “We do need to add to the squad. I’m expecting to hear two or three signings in this January transfer window because that’s what we need to do. We’ve got to back Conte.
“What I’d like to see is bring in another attacking midfielder or a winger that can compete with Bergwijn, Moura.
“I think Adama Traore would be a fantastic signing.
“He’s perfect for how Conte wants to play, that sort of counter-attacking style, direct football, and we know how quick Traore is and how lethal he can be with the ball at his feet. I think he’d be a superb signing.”
Spurs can sign Traore for a bargain fee
Traore’s price-tag was as high as £50 million just a few months ago. That is one of the reasons why Tottenham missed out on his signature last summer, but they could now sign him for less than half of that.
If a report from The Telegraph is to be believed, Wolves will be convinced to do business with a Premier League club for Traore if an offer of just £20 million is tabled. That’s easily affordable for Spurs, even in the middle of a pandemic.
Traore’s numbers don’t look great at all, but his talent is still undeniable. Under a manager like Conte, he could fulfil the massive potential he has, even if he is converted into a right wing-back by the Italian to fit in his three-at-the-back system.
It will be interesting to see if this deal materialises, but we’ve got to agree with O’Hara – Traore would be a superb signing for Spurs!
