Pedro Neto has suggested that one Manchester United player is extraordinary, as the Wolves star set his sights on becoming as good as him.

Pedro Neto has definitely been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season. He has provided nine assists for Gary O’Neil’s side.

The 23-year-old has an amazing future ahead. But he is going to have to go some way to be the best Portuguese player in the division.

Pedro Neto lauds Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes

Of course, the likes of Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva have been stalwarts of the Manchester City machine in the last few years. And Matheus Nunes joined them from Neto’s Wolves in the summer.

And speaking to Pedro Pinto, Neto suggested that he is also a huge admirer of Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes as he was asked about the Portuguese contingent in the Premier League.

“You have to learn from any player. For example, players of that calibre, Bernardo, who is an unbelievable player who is a player that when I was in Italy, he played for Monaco, I admired him a lot. And I still admire him. I continue to admire the way he plays. Ruben, for his work. Matheus, who was my teammate here and is a fantastic guy. Bruno… they are all extraordinary players, and obviously, they are players with a lot of experience. Because they are players with a lot of quality and above all, I want to be at their level,” he said.

Heavily criticised

Bruno Fernandes has come in for a lot of criticism during his time at Old Trafford. Obviously, it has been a disappointing decade for the club. And Bruno has been there for a fair while.

But he has often been a shining light for United. He has been directly involved in 134 goals in 221 games in all competitions. And Bruno was one of the positives from Manchester United’s performance in the derby.

He is one of those who could thrive if the club’s fortunes do turn around in the future. So it is not surprising that he is someone Neto looks up to at this stage of his own career.
