Paul Scholes suggests Chelsea have an ‘exciting’ reincarnation of Eden Hazard in their ranks

Chelsea have got a squad filled with talented young players who are showing promise, but Paul Scholes has been particularly impressed by one person.

The Blues have various players who are competing to be the world’s best, with Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer developing well at Stamford Bridge.

However, it has been a while since Chelsea has had a player of Eden Hazard’s capabilities who can truly claim to be the greatest player in the world at the time.

Hazard brought a level of excitement and unpredictability to Stamford Bridge that few players have managed to match that raw talent.

However, Scholes believes that Enzo Maresca might have someone within his current squad who is capable of doing just that.

Paul Scholes is excited by Estevao Willian, who has the skills of Eden Hazard

Estevao Willian has made an impressive start to life at Chelsea since joining the club in the summer transfer window, and he’s quickly catching people’s eyes.

That includes Scholes, who discussed the teenager during the latest episode of The Good, The Bad, and The Football.

“It’s exciting, is it like a maverick player, somebody comes and gets you off the edge, the edge of your seats, you know what I mean, beating people, scoring goals, creating goals.”

Since the Brazilian debuted for Chelsea, there have been many comparisons between Estevao and Hazard, with his dribbling skills getting people excited.

Estevao has shown a real level of confidence with the ball at his feet, beating players with ease to get the fans off their feet, while moving his team up the pitch.

John Terry has praised Estevao, while Maresca has admitted he’s doing “really well” so far at the club.

Much like Hazard, Estevao can play in multiple positions, instantly making him more available for Maresca when it comes to team selection.

After a bright start, the teenager’s expectations are high, and if he can come close to the 110 goals that Hazard scored for Chelsea, then fans will be pleased.

Nicky Butt believes Estevao’s goal against Liverpool was ‘unbelievable’

Estevao opened his account for Chelsea this past weekend in a thrilling game against Liverpool that saw Maresca’s team take all three points.

Chelsea took a page out of Liverpool’s book to make that happen, though, with a last-minute winner from the teenager. He got on the end of a cross at the back post to win the game dramatically for his team.

Nicky Butt was impressed by Estevao’s performance and the impact he made against Arne Slot’s team last weekend.

“He’s a young Brazilian lad. And he’s one of the thousands they produce all the time, and he just looks like he’s going to be a superstar.

“I mean, it’s just that, but to be fair, 18 years of age, he’s coming in the back post, scores the winner. It’s a great day for him, isn’t it? Unbelievable.”
