Paul Pogba has message for Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, and Manchester United duo
Paul Pogba has taken to Instagram to send a touching, heartfelt message to Arsenal star Bukayo Saka. The teen missed a penalty as England lost to Italy in Sunday’s Euro 2020 final shootout. The Arsenal star, along with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, have been racially abused on social media.
Saka, Manchester United ace Rashford and soon-to-be United signing Sancho all missed from the spot as Italy held aloft the Euro 2020 trophy. It came after Luke Shaw had put England ahead, only for Italy stalwart Leonardo Bonucci to equalise. Since then, they have suffered racial abuse.
Not only have teammates, pundits and the majority of fans leapt to the defence of Saka, Rashford and Sancho following their miss – but now they are doing so after the abuse that has been sent their way. Just one kick of a football has seen the trio go from national hero’s, to receiving racial hatred.
What has Pogba said to Arsenal ace Saka, Sancho and Rashford?
Manchester United ace Pogba had an indifferent Euro 2020 tournament. The 28-year-old scored a worldie against Switzerland but failed to help the French surpass the Swiss, losing on penalties. They were most people’s favourites before the start of the tournament.
Speaking on Instagram, Pogba spoke of his pride for Sancho, Saka and Rashford and that the “world of football is proud of you”. He also condemned the racist abuse that the England trio had received, with an emotionally driven post on Instagram.
