Paul Merson believes Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane will stay at the club despite constant rumours linking him with a move to Bayern Munich.
The Englishman is undoubtedly Spurs’ best player. He has been carrying the team for years now, but he will soon enter the final 18 months of his contract, which is a concern for Daniel Levy and co at Hotspur Way.

Paul Merson thinks Tottenham star Harry Kane will stay at Spurs despite exit links
The one transfer rumour every Tottenham fan is sick of hearing is about Kane leaving the club. These rumours pop up in every single transfer window, but thankfully for Spurs fans, they have managed to keep their star at home.
However, Kane, branded as a ‘powerful’ player by Sven-Goran Eriksson on talkSPORT, will enter the final year of his contract next summer, and many big clubs may try their luck. German champions Bayern Munich seem the likeliest at the moment.
Fabrizio Romano revealed about a month ago on Que Golazo that “Bayern Munich are dreaming of signing” Kane. They think the Tottenham star is the “perfect signing for their approach, style and strategy.”
Moving to Bayern will almost guarantee trophies to Kane, but Merson believes he’ll snub the German giants and stay at Spurs instead.
He wrote in his column on Sportskeeda: “Son and Kane will want to go on and win trophies in the final part of their careers, there is no doubt about that. Yet there aren’t a lot of trophies to win and if Son and Kane want silverware, they would have to join the right club.

“Kane will only break the all-time Premier League goalscoring record with Tottenham because, in my view, Manchester City are no longer an option. Kane and Erling Haaland is never going to work and Alan Shearer’s record is the one he’s got to go for, now. If he’s not going to win trophies, you may as well collect an individual accolade.
“People say ‘Haaland will beat the record’ but he won’t be here long enough. If Kane does it, it’s not going to be a record that’s broken next week. It will probably be there forever.
“There is talk that Bayern Munich are serious about signing Kane but going there and winning the Bundesliga is probably the equivalent of Desmond Douglas winning at table tennis in the summer while on holiday.
“I just can’t see Kane getting this far down the line, jumping ship and moving abroad. It really wouldn’t make too much sense when you’re on the verge of making history in the Premier League.”
Kane’s full focus at the moment seems to be on helping Tottenham achieve their goals this season. He has scored 11 goals already, and if he keeps on going, he could help his side achieve something special this term.
It will be interesting to see what will happen with Kane next year. Spurs will surely want to tie him down to a long-term deal, but if he opts against it, Bayern could well be a serious option for him.
