Paul Merson thinks Harry Kane could score a hat-trick for Tottenham against Bournemouth tomorrow

Paul Merson has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane could score a hat-trick against Bournemouth in the Premier League tomorrow.

Spurs have had a shocking week. They lost back-to-back games against Manchester United and Newcastle in the Premier League, before dropping points against Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday.

They need to get back to winning ways and Merson believes Kane will lead them to victory tomorrow.

Paul Merson thinks Harry Kane could score a hat-trick for Tottenham against Bournemouth tomorrow

Tottenham had a really strong summer transfer window, but their best player, by far, is still Kane.

The Englishman, branded as a ‘very strong’ player by Lisandro Martinez, has been amazing for Spurs this season. He has scored 11 goals in all competitions so far – 10 of which have come in the Premier League in his first 12 games.

That is a phenomenal return, and Merson believes he could increase that tally by three when Tottenham head to the Vitality Stadium to take on Bournemouth tomorrow.

The pundit wrote in his column on Sportskeeda: “Tottenham haven’t had a great week. They were a goal away from virtually qualifying for the knock-outs in the Champions League. They were well beaten by Newcastle and Manchester United, and they couldn’t win against Sporting Lisbon at home.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Harry Kane got a hat-trick against Bournemouth. That’s Tottenham at the moment, and it’s quite worrying.

“Antonio Conte always plays a three-at-the-back formation, and you need to have top-draw wingbacks with this system. Tottenham have one of the best forward pairs in Kane and Son, but there’s no ammunition behind them.

“You’re only as good as the people who give the ball to you.”

Merson is right, great strikers always have excellent providers behind them.

Kane, sadly, has had to do a lot on his own this season, which makes his record of 10 league goals in 12 starts look even more phenomenal than it is.

The Englishman’s late goal against Sporting on Wednesday was controversially ruled out. He, like all his teammates, was furious after the decision, and he will be desperate to bounce back against Bournemouth.

We won’t really be surprised if Kane shows up at the Vitality and bags a hat-trick tomorrow. However, the Cherries have been a difficult side to beat since Scott Parker was shown the door, so it will not be an easy game for Spurs.
