Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United at Old Trafford last night, but two Spurs stars still caught Lisandro Martinez’s eye – Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
Antonio Conte’s men looked really poor. They were battered by the hosts, who registered 28 shots in total. If it wasn’t for Hugo Lloris’ brilliance in goal, the scoreline would’ve been embarrassing.
At the other end of the pitch, Kane and Son, who are Spurs’ usual saviours, were kept really quiet by Manchester United’s defenders.

Lisandro Martinez says Tottenham stars Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are ‘very strong’
Tottenham’s biggest strength is their transition from defence to attack. Two of their deadliest players are Kane and Son, and when they combine well, Spurs usually end up scoring.
Kane tried really hard to get things going for his side last night. He dropped deep, picked up the ball and attempted to open the play up, but things just didn’t happen for him and his teammates.
Spurs ended the game with just two shots on target, and that simply isn’t good enough.
Martinez spoke at full time and the Argentine claimed that his side controlled the game against the likes of Son and Kane, who he says are both ‘very strong’.
He told Manchester United’s official website: “I think we were very solid in defence tonight. I think we controlled the game tonight, it’s great also to get a clean sheet.
“They [Kane and Son] have a lot of quality, very strong, and a lot technical [ability] as well.

TBR View:
Kane and Son are indeed very, very strong, but they just couldn’t combine as well as they could last night.
Erik Ten Hag got his tactics spot on, and his men left little to no space for Kane and Son to find a way through on goal.
This has been coming for Tottenham. They have been picking up results, but their performances have been really poor. They were battered against Arsenal and the same happened again last night, which just shows that they still have a long, long way to go.
Spurs take on Newcastle United this weekend, and if Kane and Son don’t step up, they will likely struggle again.
