Alexander Isak is set to sign for Liverpool in what will be the biggest transfer in Premier League history.
Isak is set to join the Reds, and many believe Liverpool will secure the Premier League title with this signing.
Marc Guehi could also join Liverpool on deadline day to add even more quality to this squad.
Speaking on Sky Sports News (1/9/25 1:10PM), Paul Merson has been discussing Isak’s potential move to Anfield, and he says that he’s spotted an issue that Liverpool will have once Isak signs.

Paul Merson spots Alexander Isak issue
Merson spoke about Isak’s impending move to Merseyside, stating that he has some reservations.
Merson says that Isak isn’t fit every week, alluding to his injury history, while he also noted that the current make-up of the Liverpool attack is a problem, pointing to the fact that Hugo Ekitike or Cody Gakpo would have to be dropped if Isak came in.
“I think only time will tell. I don’t think Isak is fit every single week, he’s not an every game sort of player. The problem is that Isak comes in and Ekitike won’t play, or he goes out to the left and Gakpo doesn’t play,” Merson said.
“He has a lot of decisions to make, I just think why didn’t they get this sorted early doors, waiting until the last minute now, it’s ridiculous really.”
Alexander Isak injury history
Isak is perhaps the best striker in the world, but, as Merson says, he does have a list of injury issues behind him.
Isak’s injury record doesn’t make for the best reading, and that’s something Liverpool need to be wary of.

That said, Isak has played at least 30 games in each of his last two Premier League seasons, scoring plenty of goals in the process, so he does have the ability to stay fit, even if he has had issues in the past.
The reality is that Isak is a fantastic player, and regardless of other potential issues, he will make Liverpool a better team.
