Paul Merson predicts the result of Tottenham vs Arsenal this weekend

The North London Derby is one of the most highly charged fixtures in the Premier League calendar.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur fans will be desperate to get one over their local rivals on Sunday.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Paul Merson has predicted the result of Arsenal and Tottenham’s latest meeting.

Mikel Arteta’s side will want to make sure Manchester City don’t gain more ground on them at the top of the table.

Eddie Nketiah has stepped into the side in the absence of Gabriel Jesus and really impressed.

It’s a completely different challenge taking on Tottenham at their own ground though.

It also means coming up against Harry Kane, who loves a London derby.

He’s once again been brilliant this season, and is already the top scorer in North London derby history.

If Spurs can take three points off the league leaders this weekend, it would really help their Champions League ambitions.

Merson predicts Tottenham vs Arsenal

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Merson certainly hoped his former side could do the business, but wasn’t all that confident.

“This is the only time I miss playing football. This game never lets you down,” Merson said.

“Everyone goes on about all the other big games, but you never come away from this derby with nothing happening.

“It’s the most entertaining Premier League game on a consistent basis – goals galore!

“Harry Kane causes Arsenal problems, and Arsenal cause Tottenham problems. If Tottenham want to play defensively, Arsenal will run out of ideas quickly like they did against Newcastle.

“If Tottenham play a dangerous game, however, Arsenal could run riot.

“I don’t see this game as a foregone conclusion – I hope Arsenal wipe the floor with Tottenham, but I don’t think they will. Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 Arsenal.”

Merson has predicted a draw between Arsenal and Tottenham, which both sets of fans would probably take.

Arsenal will be glad not to have tasted defeat at their north London rivals once again.

Meanwhile, Spurs will be happy that Mikel Arteta’s side haven’t done the double over them this season.

The Gunners will know how important it is to stop Kane scoring against them once again.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte’s men have to avoid once again falling behind this season.
