Alan Shearer makes claim about Harry Kane's form for Tottenham this season

Alan Shearer claims Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane’s brilliant form has gone completely under the radar this season in his latest column for the Athletic.

Kane has been exceptional for Tottenham so far this season and has already managed to bag 17 goals in all competitions.

The 29-year-old has produced these numbers in a side that has often struggled to create chances, especially in Dejan Kulusevski’s absence.

The England captain has scored three since returning from the World Cup, where he missed a crucial penalty in the quarter-final against France.

But Kane has bounced back immediately for Spurs and Shearer feels his form has gone under the radar due to Manchester City star Erling Haaland.

Shearer says Kane form has gone under the radar

Writing in his latest column for the Athletic, Shearer discussed Darwin Nunez’s woes in-front of goal for Liverpool this season.

The Newcastle United legend mentioned Kane’s goal scoring form and feels he isn’t getting the praise he deserves due to Haaland’s amazing record for City.

“Harry Kane has scored 17 goals for Tottenham Hotspur this season and has barely had a mention because of Haaland’s blitz through Premier League defences, while Nunez’s total of 10 in 23 appearances for Liverpool is viewed through the prism of discomfort,” Shearer said.

Haaland has already managed to score 21 goals in only 16 Premier League games for Pep Guardiola’s side so far.

Kane is currently six behind him in the race for the Golden Boot, but the Tottenham star looks like the only player capable of keeping pace with the Norwegian at the moment.

It’s important to note as well that Kane is putting up these numbers in a side that is nowhere the level of Manchester City’s.

It will probably suit Tottenham and Kane that his form is seemingly going under the radar. The Englishman will be hoping to continue to quietly go about his business and help Spurs finish inside the top-four.
