Paul Merson picks between Martin Odegaard and James Maddison
Well, Martin Odegaard and James Maddison are two of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League.
While Odegaard is one of the first names on the Arsenal teamsheet, Maddison was on fire for Tottenham Hotspur since moving from Leicester City in the summer of 2023 before he got injured.

Odegaard has not been at his best for Arsenal this season, but there is no denying that the Norway international playmaker is a big figure at the North London club.
The 25-year-old has scored four goals and given three assists in 18 Premier League matches and has scored two goals in five UEFA Champions League games for the Gunners this season.
As you can see below, former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson believes that Odegaard is a better player than Maddison.
Maddison joined Spurs from Leicester City in the summer of 2023. The 27-year-old playmaker is injured at the moment.
The England international attacking midfielder has scored three goals and given five assists in 11 Premier League games for Tottenham this season.
Maddison has made 174 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. He has scored 46 goals and provided 37 assists in those games.
Odegaard has made 105 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The playmaker has scored 27 goals and given 16 assists in those games.

As for Tottenham, although their main objective this season is to finish in the top four, they could launch a challenge for the title.
