Liverpool are set for a big summer transfer window.
Indeed, the Reds already have three remarkable signings lined up. Jeremie Frimpong has already joined the Merseyside club, Florian Wirtz is set to follow suit in the near future, while Milos Kerkez is on his way to Anfield too.
On top of that, Liverpool may also look to sign a new striker this summer as Darwin Nunez is set to leave Anfield.
Alexander Isak has been linked to Liverpool, and now, speaking to The Redmen TV, Paul Joyce has shared some interesting insight into this potential deal.

Paul Joyce provides Alexander Isak to Liverpool update
Joyce shared what he’s been told about Liverpool’s interest in Isak.
The journalist says Liverpool would absolutely be in for Isak if he were to become available in this summer transfer window.
However, unfortunately, Joyce has also been told that this situation is very complicated, claiming that he’s been told that Newcastle are under no pressure to sell Isak at the moment.
“I think when we get onto Alexander Isak, the top teams in England would all covet him. The situation is complicated by, I spoke to one of my colleagues who covers Newcastle this morning and he said there’s no real pressure on Newcastle to sell for PSR reasons, which was the case last summer when the Anthony Gordon link came up,” Joyce said.
“If that was to change, Liverpool would put themselves in the conversation, but I think once Wirtz and Kerkez are in, Liverpool will look to trade and it’s about an opportunistic move and being able to react to situations.”
Alexander Isak’s contract situation analysed
Newcastle aren’t under any pressure to sell Alexander Isak at the moment, but as time goes on, that could change.
Isak’s contract is entering an interesting period, Newcastle have been in contract talks with Isak for a long time now, but, as of yet, new terms haven’t been signed.
With three years left to run on his deal, Isak’s value is now at the highest it perhaps ever will be, and if he’s not willing to sign a new deal, it may make sense for Eddie Howe’s side to cash in.
| Alexander Isak’s contract situation | |
| Date signed | August 26, 2022 |
| Expiry date | 30 June, 2028 |
| Weekly wage | £120,000 |
| Contract value remaining | £18,960,000 |
Newcastle don’t need to sell Isak, but there may well be that temptation to maximise the value they can get from this sale, particularly as PSR issues are still a lurking threat, even if the Magpies are in the clear this summer.
