Patrick Bamford makes Leeds fans claim after signing new contract
Patrick Bamford has told LUTV that he cannot imagine what it is going to be like playing in a front of a full Elland Road again after Leeds United announced that he has signed a new contract.
Bamford has handed the Whites a huge boost with the news that he has signed a new deal until 2026. It comes amid reports linking the striker with a potential move to Spurs.
Of course, Leeds fans probably needed little encouragement about the rest of the campaign having barely been able to watch Marcelo Bielsa’s team inside the grounds last season.
And Bamford outlined just how excited he was to welcome the supporters back as he recalled the atmosphere that has stuck with him in particular.
“The one game out of all the games I’ve played in my career where I’ve thought ‘wow’, that was the craziest, the loudest I’ve ever heard it was is the first season when we played West Brom at home and Pablo scored within 20 seconds,” he told LUTV.
“I’ve never heard anything like that so I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like in the Prem this year.”
Many famous Elland Road nights ahead for Bamford after he signs new contract
Of course, the optimism for Leeds this season took a hit with their defeat on the opening day of the campaign.
But based on what they showed last term, it should come as absolutely no surprise if they swiftly bounce back and silence any doubters once again.
With Bamford tied down until 2026, there will be plenty of opportunities for the 27-year-old to get Elland Road properly rocking again and inspire the kind of atmospheres that rival that night against West Brom.
