‘I was a bit unsure’: Patrick Bamford admits he thought one new Leeds signing has proven him wrong already

Leeds United striker, Patrick Bamford, has been speaking about all things Elland Road on the latest Leeds United podcast.

The Whites striker had plenty to talk about on the episode. One of the big subjects for Bamford and Leeds fans was how the new signings are settling in. Of course, after losing Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, Leeds have had to act and have signed a number of new faces.

One of those new faces is 21-year-old American, Brendan Aaronson. And Bamford, speaking about his new teammate, admitted that he’d had doubts over whether or not Aaronson was of the right stature for the club.

“I’m going to be honest, when I saw him doing his medical I was a bit unsure because he looks like a little boy. I was thinking he’s small, he’s like a stick, but when you see him in training and the amount of balls he wins back, he’s aggressive!,” Bamford said of his new teammate.

“I was like really impressed by him.”

Aaronson has featured in both Leeds games this season and has had a big impact already. Along with Aaronson, Bamford also spoke about Tyler Adams, admitting he is an ‘irritating’ player to play against in training.

TBR’s View: Leeds’ New Signings Impressing

Despite making a number of new additions, it was an approach which had to be carried out really by Leeds, given they’d lost two key players anyway and only narrowly stayed up in the first place.

Bamford’s comments here are good news for Leeds fans. It shows that the players they’ve signed are making a mark and if you can impress senior players, then that’s even better.

There is more to come from Leeds this season and Brendan Aaronson – and Bamford – will have big roles to play.
