Patrick Bamford says new Leeds signing Tyler Adams is 'irritating' to play against in training
The Whites signed the versatile American from RB Leipzig for around £20 million last month (Sky Sports). The 23-year-old was brought in to take Kalvin Phillips’ place in the side, and it looks like he has made a good impression behind the scenes.
Patrick Bamford says new Leeds signing Tyler Adams is ‘irritating’
Bamford was on The Official Leeds United Podcast this week, and he was asked about the new signings. His comments on Adams really caught our eye.
The Englishman said: “Ty as well has come in and it’s difficult to fill Kalvin’s role, how good Kal was, but the way Ty wins the ball back as well – he’s doing a good job so far!
“Him and Marc in midfield compliment each other nicely.
“Ty is irritating! He just appears out of nowhere and he’s full throttle.
“There was one time a few weeks ago, and I’d just taken the ball down – I think it had gone over Rasmus’ head and I was just about to shoot – and Ty had no business being there and he slid from 10 metres away!
“He is full throttle, but they’re good lads.”
Adams is a really exciting signing for Leeds United.
Phillips is a hero to Whites fans and many still consider him as irreplaceable. However, after his move to Manchester City, Jesse Marsch had to bring in cover.
Adams is a really talented player. He may not be on Phillips’ level just yet, but he’s excellent at what his does, and he’ll give Marsch plenty of options thanks to his versatility as well.
Bamford’s verdict really is reassuring for Leeds fans, and if Adams can do the same in games this season, he will become a fan favourite very soon.
