Pascal Chimbonda gives excited four-word verdict on Tottenham Friday announcement
Ex-Tottenham player Pascal Chimbonda has revealed his excitement after the Friday announcement that Heung-Min Son has signed a new deal at Spurs.
Son, 29 has officially agreed a new contract with Spurs to keep him at the club until 2025.
The attacker has already become a cult figure during six years in north London, so news of him extending his stay has obviously gone down well. He doesn’t quite get the limelight like some of the Premier League’s elite, but he belongs in that category.
The dazzling left-winger had a staggering 39 direct goal contributions last season. Clearly, he’s someone that new manager Nuno Espirito Santo will look towards.
Also, the South Korean recently managed a goal and assist during his first match of pre-season.
Chimbonda, who played 103 games for Spurs during his playing career, responded to the Son announcement with an emphatic four-word message.
“Best signing so far,” he wrote.
Will Tottenham star Son reach prestigious Premier League 100 club?
For Son, it looks like he may be looking to finish his time in England in a Spurs shirt.
This is why it’s interesting to raise the question of whether or not he can finish his Premier League career with 100-plus goals. If you consider he’s got 70 top-flight goals so far, you’d put money on him doing that. He looks at the peak of his powers right now.
In addition, there may be even more pressure on his shoulders if rumours about teammate Harry Kane end up in him leaving.
Son should use it as a real incentive during the next seasons to reach what would be an unbelievable achievement.
