'Paratici is a genius': Some Tottenham fans discuss Tuesday announcement
Tottenham announced the sale of Joe Hart to Celtic on Tuesday – and some Spurs fans on Twitter are gobsmacked at the financial aspect of the business.
Hart, 34, has joined Scottish giants Celtic on a three year deal as he takes another step in his career.
The experienced goalkeeper joined Spurs on a free transfer (Sky Sports) last summer to provide cover in the squad. He ended up making 10 appearances across all competitions during the 2020/21 season.
However, the ex-England number one will no longer be playing in the Premier League.
Celtic have completed the signing of Hart on a £1million deal (Sky Sports), which is something that has blown the mind of some Spurs supporters.
He still had one year remaining on his contract at the north London club, but Spurs fans can’t believe Hart’s exit has resulted in a small profit. Some have given their director Fabio Paratici all the credit for the smart business.
Joe Hart transfer works for every party
For Spurs, they’ve made a surprising small cash sale on a player they signed for a free last summer. In addition, his exit means that youngster Alfie Whiteman may be looking upwards trying to break into the senior fold.
Hart, who’s been the ultimate professional during the last year, is likely to get regular first-team minutes again. It’s been difficult at times for him, but he looks ready for a new challenge.
Meanwhile, Celtic’s dire need to improve their squad is getting a small boost with the Tuesday arrivals of Hart and James McCarthy.
