‘Pain’: Some Tottenham fans react as club reportedly hijack interest in 21-goal target

Interest from Tottenham in Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly being hijacked – and some Spurs fans on Twitter are angry with the fresh transfer rumours that are circling. 

Gianluca Di Marzio recently mentioned Spurs, along with rivals Arsenal, as potential suitors for the 21-year-old Fiorentina striker.

However, his latest report could be quite a blow.

Di Marzio claims that Atletico Madrid are now preparing to make contact with Fiorentina to make a bid for Vlahovic.

It is understood that the offer will be around €50million (£42.4million). Also, a decision is set to arrive in a few days time regarding the player’s future.

Vlahovic, 21, had his real breakout season last year in Italy after a few years of being around senior football.

The Serbian centre-forward scored 21 goals in 37 Serie A appearances. For reference, Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Luis Muriel were the only players in the entire Italian top division to outscore him last season.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media are livid with the Vlahovic rumour, especially as the speculation surrounding their current forward Harry Kane continues to surface.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad could realistically do with another striker anyway for the new season regardless of Kane’s future.

Vlahovic is an emerging talent that looks tailor-made for Premier League football on paper. However, Atletico are the team that are moving for him.
