Newcastle United have some good news coming their way – Bournemouth star Lloyd Kelly is open to joining them this summer.

The Magpies have had a difficult season. Injuries have really troubled them, which is why Eddie Howe is desperate for reinforcements. Kelly has been linked and he’s now ready to make the switch to Newcastle United.

Lloyd Kelly is ready to join Newcastle United

Newcastle United’s season hasn’t quite gone to plan, has it?

The Magpies were incredible last campaign. They reached the final of the Carabao Cup, finished fourth in the Premier League and qualified for the Champions League.

All the excitement came crashing down for the Toon a few months ago after they finished bottom of their Champions League group. They are currently 10th in the league table following last night’s defeat to Chelsea.

Eddie Howe will be keen to strengthen his side in the summer, and Lloyd Kelly of Bournemouth has been linked with a move to St James’ Park.

Now, Ben Jacobs has claimed that the ‘outstanding‘ Englishman is open to making a move to Newcastle.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Regarding Kelly, I think he would offer a budget option for Newcastle and could be a direction that the club moves in.

“I don’t think there’s anything set in stone at this point. But I know Kelly would be open to moving to a club like Newcastle. At this stage, I think it’s more about Newcastle understanding what they can and can’t do financially.

“That might mean waiting until a little bit later in the season to determine what kind of European football income, if any, is coming in, and then they’ll be able to firm up their summer plans.”

Kelly would be a risk-free signing for Newcastle

Lloyd Kelly has been on the radar of quite a few clubs over the last few months.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move to sign him since last summer, while West Ham United are also said to be interested in him.

Newcastle are thinking about it too, and we feel it’s a no-brainer.

Kelly, 25, is Premier League proven, can play as a centre-back and left-back, is a solid player and can be signed on a free transfer. To make things better, he’s open to joining the Toon too.

This would be a risk-free signing for the Magpies, and we think they should get him this summer.
