West Ham are interested in Joe Worrall who put in a man-of-the-match performance on Sunday night in a 1-0 loss to Liverpool according to the Daily Mail.
The Nottingham Forrest defender looked composed and controlled against world-class opposition and even drew praise from former Chelsea and England star John Terry who left a comment on Worrall’s Instagram page simply saying “well played mate”.
John Terry’s attention should be heeded carefully by West Ham, who reportedly have been scouting the Forrest player for some time and are ready to turn up their interest.
With the sudden spotlight Worrall is under, The Hammers must not waste time in moving for the man who could be the perfect replacement for the aging Angelo Ogbonna.
Worrall is ready for the Premier League
There is no better litmus test for a player than facing down the artillery that Jurgen Klopp’s men possess. Facing down Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino is never easy and although Forrest lost, Worrall came out of the game with a lot of respect, as the numbers below show.
Liverpool’s goal came as a result of the only time in the match that Diogo Jota managed to steal a run on Worrall, a startling reminder for 25 year old of the quality that the Liverpool forwards have.
What will be encouraging for the interested Hammers is the fact that in every other instance, Worrall dealt with Jota without issue.
Worrall has been a “standout player” for some time according to former player Lee Hendrie who touted him as a potential premier league player over a year ago.
West Ham seem to agree and they will hope that a step up to the Premier League can take Worrall to the next level.

West Ham need to act now
If David Moyes wants to secure Worrall’s services he should not be waiting around.
West Ham are not the only club interested in the Forrest defender and after this performance his stock and more importantly for the West Ham hierarchy, his price, will be on the rise.
If Hammers owners Sulivan and Gold can negotiate any deal south of £20 million for Worrall it could be another Championship coup for Moyes’ men.
Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson are both in their 30s and although not necessarily on the decline, they will not be around forever.
Ogbonna especially has had to deal with recurring injury problems and allegedly would like to move back to Italy before his playing career ends.
West Ham have had success in buying from the Championship before and if Worrall were to turn out even remotely like their previous lower-division buy Jarrod Bowen, I’m sure they’d be elated.
They should not waste time.
