'Opened talks': Fabrizio Romano claims Leeds are now trying to land absolutely 'superb' talent
Leeds United have already signed two players this summer, landing Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen.
However, it doesn’t look as though Whites boss Jesse Marsch is anywhere near done just yet.
Leeds have been linked with several other players since getting the Kristensen deal over the line.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Whites have entered talks over one of the Premier League’s brightest youngsters.
And on Thursday, Romano claimed the Elland Road outfit is now in discussions over the 18-year-old attacker.
As well as Leeds, Aston Villa are apparently hoping to convince Perkins to make the move.
As per The Athletic, Leeds are targeting Perkins for their academy.
The teenager is a regular for West Ham’s development squad.
He was named Premier League 2’s player of the month for April this season.
Perkins has scored 10 goals in 20 Premier League 2 games this past season.
Meanwhile, he scored four for the under-18s.
Perkins also has three senior West Ham appearances to his name.
He made his full professional debut in the Europa League against Dynamo Zagreb in December.
Perkins then appeared as a late substitute during Leeds’ win at the London Stadium the following month.
West Ham icon Mark Noble has previously labelled him ‘superb‘.
