Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to be reunited with Chris Wood at West Ham United, TBR Football understands.

The West Ham boss had a brilliant working relationship with Wood during their time together at Nottingham Forest, with Nuno bringing the best out of the New Zealand international.

Wood was a cornerstone of Nuno’s Forest side and has been one of the Premier League’s top scorers over the last two years.

Now that Nuno is in charge of West Ham, he is already looking to make an impact on the team with future signings, and the popular striker is high on his list.

Exclusive: Nuno Espirito Santo wants to reunite with Nottingham Forest players

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has now provided further insight into Wood’s situation at Nottingham Forest, and the transfer speculation surrounding him.

It currently isn’t guaranteed that Wood is going to be part of Ange Postecoglou’s long-term plans, as his playing style is vastly different from Nuno’s.

We can confirm that Wood has interest from a number of clubs, should he not prove to be part of Postecoglou’s plans.

West Ham would face competition in trying to land Wood’s signature though, as TBR Football understands that Everton and Leeds United are all keeping tabs on Wood’s situation at Nottingham Forest.

Our chief correspondent Graeme Bailey confirmed: “Nuno is open to being reunited with former players and there could be a few at Forest that become available.

“Nuno and Ange’s style are quite different and it may just be the case that certain players become available. West Ham have promised Nuno funds to make changes in January.”

Nottingham Forest are under pressure already this season

It has been a less than ideal start to the season for Nottingham Forest, who have undergone a managerial change, and are struggling for results.

Postecoglou has failed to win a single game since taking charge at the City Ground, becoming the first permanent manager in 100 years to not win one of their opening six games in charge.

Nottingham Forest currently sit just above the relegation zone in 17th, having only picked up five points from their first six fixtures.

Nottingham Forest fans are calling for Postecoglou to be sacked already, with the ongoing situation only adding further question marks to Wood’s future.
