Liverpool supporters across the globe have been left devastated today following the heartbreaking news about Diogo Jota.

The striker was involved in a fatal car accident at around 23:30 BST on Wednesday, 2nd July, along with his brother Andre Silva.

The tragic news emerged in the early hours of Thursday, followed by the confirmation from Liverpool.

Following the confirmation of the sad news, Liverpool fans have sent in tributes for their beloved striker Diogo Jota.

One fan wrote: “I’m literally numb, I just can’t believe it. RIP to our #20.”

For them devastating and all of us should just look at this at the human level. There were also emotional calls for the club to support Jota’s loved ones, with one supporter urging the club to pay his family for the remainder of his contract.
