Report: Nottingham Forest want to sign 'fantastic' int'l midfielder, six months on from Arsenal making a bid
Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest have looked into the prospect of signing Rangers midfielder, Glen Kamara, according to 90Min.
The Finland international star has been one of the Gers’ standout players in recent years and helped the Scottish side to the Europa League final last season. He was linked with a move to the Premier League in January of this year, when both Arsenal and Aston Villa were said to have made enquiries.
But according to 90Min, it is Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest, along with Brighton and Bournemouth, who have made recent enquiries about bringing the midfielder in from Rangers. Kamara, who was dubbed as a ‘fantastic‘ midfielder by former boss, Steven Gerrard, could well be open to a move south.
Kamara is a stalwart for his country and has won 46 caps already for the Fins. At just 26, there is a feeling Kamara might well have his best seasons ahead of him, and that could be in the English game.
The talented midfielder has helped Rangers to domestic success, being part of Gerrard’s title-winning team a few seasons back. It remains to be seen whether Gerrard would be keen on bringing his former star to Villa Park.
TBR’s View: Glen Kamara To Nottingham Forest Is Great For The Reds
Forest have made some smart moves this summer and landing a player like Glen Kamara would simply add to those smart moves.
He is a fine player with experience at international and European level. That’s the sort of player Forest would love to have on board, and there’s no doubt Steve Cooper would find a place in the middle of the park for Kamara.
With James Garner back at Manchester United, there is a gap for Forest to land a midfielder and if it is Kamara they go for, then Reds fans will be more than happy.
