Aaron Ramsdale’s dad has defended Kai Havertz’s performances for Arsenal amid ongoing criticism being pointed at the 24-year-old.
Speaking on Highbury Squad’s Monday Madness, Nick Ramsdale stuck up for the German international when asked about the former Chelsea star’s first few performances for Arsenal.
Havertz has struggled to adapt to life with Arsenal having signed for £65m this summer in one of the more surprising deals of the transfer window.

Whilst Mikel Arteta clearly has a long-term plan for the creative forward in midfield, results are yet to convince supporters and pundits, yet Ramsdale’s dad has now jumped to Havertz’s side.
Ramsdale senior said: “The guy works his socks off, but it’s just not working for him at the moment. Whether he’s found the right position or whatever, I don’t know. But you just can’t say ‘he doesn’t work hard’.
“To me, watching him home and away, he doesn’t just amble around taking the money. I think we ought to give the guy a bit of slack, he didn’t ask to be signed for £65m.”
Nick Ramsdale’s Havertz defence is exactly what Arsenal fans need to hear

With club legends like Ian Wright backing Havertz to succeed, it very much feels like a select few Arsenal fans and pundits are up against the world in regards to the 24-year-old.
The Germany star has been under the spotlight ever since making the switch from Chelsea to Arsenal, and as a result, Havertz’s confidence has taken a hit.
However, we all know just how good Havertz can become in the right system with the right manager, and the 24-year-old can find just that at Arsenal if given the time.
