'Not the level': £58m player has no interest in joining Leeds United this summer, journalist suggests
Pulisic joined the Blues in a £58 million switch from Borussia Dortmund back in 2019 (BBC) and has had a mixed spell in London.
The American has been brilliant in spells for Chelsea but has struggled to find consistency, particularly under Thomas Tuchel.
Reports have suggested that Leeds hold an interest in the player but in the latest update, it’s thought that Pulisic isn’t interested in moving to Elland Road.
Pulisic no interest in joining Leeds
“It wouldn’t surprise me if Leeds were to try their luck on it, but I just can’t see Christian Pulisic going for it, even with Jesse Marsch there, it’s not the level of football that he moved to England to be playing,” Jones said.
“Going from Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea, that’s a clear pathway to becoming one of the best players in your position in the world, and to then move on to Leeds, I don’t think that’s really what he’s got in mind at the moment.”
Leeds have been on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this summer after making seven signings already.
Pulisic would be an excellent option for Marsch but it doesn’t seem likely that the 23-year-old would be willing to drop Champions League football to join Leeds.
If the United States international was to leave Stamford Bridge in the future, it’s likely that he would have many options on the table.
Despite an underwhelming period at Chelsea so far, Pulisic is still very young and his best years are ahead of him.
Pulisic will probably need to seek out regular first-team football in the future after just 13 starts for Chelsea last season and he will be an attractive option for some big European clubs.
