‘Not sure the Liverpool fans realise’ – Bournemouth supporters react as Milos Kerkez moves to Anfield

Bournemouth have now officially lost Milos Kerkez to Liverpool.

The Hungarian helped the Cherries amass their highest points total in Premier League history last season (56) – starting all 38 games as Bournemouth finished ninth.

Two goals and six assists in those outings has convinced Liverpool to spend £40m on Milos Kerkez – and the telling reaction of Bournemouth fans strongly suggests it could turn out to be a bargain.

Bournemouth fans make it clear Liverpool have signed a diamond in Milos Kerkez

Bournemouth fans watched the Hungary international play 5,916 minutes of action for their beloved club since his arrival from AZ Alkmaar in July 2023, so they are arguably better placed to comment on him than most people.

Therefore, the fact they clearly hold Kerkez – who Manchester City looked at – in high regard should excite Liverpool fans.

One Bournemouth supporter even wrote they are “not sure” whether Liverpool fans actually know how talented the 21-year-old really is, posting: (The transfer saga) went on a bit, however, glad it’s done now. Good Luck to him. For me, best player ability wise to play for Bournemouth.

“Not sure the Liverpool fans realise how good he is.”

That is quite the compliment.

Another added: “Whatever the opinion of Milos, he’s been phenomenal for us. Hopefully being at Liverpool, he gets the PR training he needs.”

That is a direct criticism of some revealing comments from Kerkez, who told The Athletic in March about his desire to leave while the 2024/25 campaign was still going on.

The man born in Vrbas said: “As a kid, you dream to play at the highest level, win the trophies, be on the best teams. These are the things that my agent is (working) on… in the summer, we will see what happens.”

A third Bournemouth fan added: “All done and dusted!

“Think we all owe Milos Kerkez a huge thank you for his effort and work over the last two seasons. On the pitch, can’t fault him this season, but I’d rather see him go, it was obvious he wasn’t intending (on) staying here. We move on!”

Others simply added “thank you” and “all the best” after hearing the news, with another writing that his stunning goal away at Newcastle will “live long in the memory” too.

Clearly, Liverpool have signed a top talent, judging by these comments.

Liverpool fans spot clue in Milos Kerkez announcement

Liverpool supporters have also been busy on social media after the left-back was signed, but the conversation actually revolved around Darwin Nunez.

Kerkez could be seen sitting in the changing room at the AXA Training Centre in a gallery of his first day at Liverpool, where fans noticed the Uruguay international’s locker was the only one with a signature on it.

Many took that to be a suggestion Nunez has bid farewell to teammates as Napoli push to sign him this summer, so the South American could well be off.
