Liverpool fans panic after spotting ‘sad’ detail in background of Milos Kerkez announcement photo

Liverpool have now announced the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

The Hungary international has sealed a £40m move to Anfield after a brilliant 2024/25 campaign, scoring two goals and providing six assists in 38 Premier League appearances to announce himself as one of the brightest talents on these shores.

However, much of the discussion amongst Liverpool fans actually revolved around Darwin Nunez after Milos Kerkez was announced, as an interesting detail was spotted.

Liverpool fans think Darwin Nunez has left after dressing room detail noticed

The Reds posted a gallery of the Hungarian defender taking a look around the AXA Training Centre after announcing his arrival, where a photo of him was taken in the changing room.

Kerkez can be seen sitting in front of lockers belonging to Luis Diaz, his Hungary teammate Dominik Szoboszlai and Nunez, but notably, only the latter has a signature on the locker.

Liverpool fans think this is a clear signal the Uruguay international is about to depart.

One fan wrote on X (previously known as Twitter) “while the Milos Kerkez photo shoot was released, Darwin Nunez has signed his door citing a farewell” – which sparked a barrage of responses.

A second supporter replied: “Actually gutted it didn’t work out. He’ll light up Serie A though.”

Napoli are keen to sign Nunez – and a deal looks likely to materialise – hence the reference to Serie A.

Other Liverpool fans simply posted “NO” and “oh” after spotting the signature.

Another said it was “sad” but added that Nunez “had to go” after failing to justify his £85m price tag in his three seasons at Anfield, where he scored just 40 goals in 143 appearances.

Andy Robertson could follow Darwin Nunez in leaving Liverpool after Milos Kerkez joins

A £40m player seems unlikely to be arriving as an option for the bench, so another senior player could follow Nunez in leaving Anfield.

TBR Football understand Andy Robertson is considering a move to Atletico Madrid after the Spanish giants made an approach for the Scotland international, and are willing to spend around £20m on his signature.

Arne Slot also has Kostas Tsimikas in his left-back department, so the Liverpool No.26 could be allowed to leave after the signing of Kerkez was made official.
