Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro Raniere says summer signing Ivan Perisic is not playing at his best right now.
Perisic completed a switch to north London on a free transfer over the summer after leaving Inter Milan.
The Croatian was actually converted into a wing-back by Antonio Conte in Milan and was expected to hit the ground running at Spurs. But Perisic is currently battling it out with Ryan Sessegnon for a place in the side.
The 33-year-old has already provided four assists in his first 13 appearances but is yet to hit top form this season. Conte recently said that he’s convinced Perisic will get even better in a Spurs shirt after an injury in his final game for Inter hindered his start in north London.
And now Sandro has also said that he is expecting the wing-back to come up big for Tottenham.

Perisic not playing at his best
Speaking on WeAreTottenhamTV’s YouTube channel, Sandro says that Perisic is not currently playing at his best for Spurs.
“I think Perisic is a good player man,” he said.
“I think he’s not showing what he can show but his form and at his best he can help a lot. He can go forward and he can defend well.”

Perisic enjoyed one of the best seasons of his long career in Italy during the last campaign. But the wing-back picked up an injury on his final appearance for the Nerazzurri.
There’s clearly plenty more to come from the Spurs man and Conte will be hoping he can get back to his best over the coming weeks.
Sessegnon is proving to be excellent competition for the spot and has put in more promising displays this year, after a strong finish to the last season.
Perisic has still provided the most assists in the entire squad from the wing-back position and it should excite Spurs fans that he’s yet to hit top form.
