David Raya has had a strange start to life at Arsenal.
The Spaniard has immediately become the Gunners’ number one, usurping Aaron Ramsdale in that slot, but he’s been far from convincing between the sticks so far.
The £27m man has been more than questionable in goal for the Gunners this season, and his presence also seems to be affecting Ramsdale’s confidence as was shown against West Ham last week.
Speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Adrian Clarke has suggested that there could be a left-field solution to this issue.
The pundit asked the question whether or not Arsenal may consider terminating Raya’s loan in January in order to restabilise the whole situation and leave a clear number one and allow Ramsdale to be more settled.

Could Arsenal bin off Raya?
Clarke questioned whether or not Arsenal could ditch the goalkeeper.
“If there is a break clause in the deal, and I don’t know if there is. Do you think that could be a consideration? Just in terms of the balance, because if both players are unsettled, then that’s not great is it?” Clarke said.
Ramsdale more likely to go
If Arsenal want to stabilise their goalkeeping situation in January, then we have to summarise that Aaron Ramsdale is more likely to leave in the winter than Raya is.
Raya is clearly Arsenal’s number one at the moment, and if any goalkeeper is going to be leaving the Emirates in the winter, it’s Ramsdale.
Of course, terminating a loan is easier than finding a fresh buyer, but with the amount of faith Arteta has shown in Raya so far, it’s hard to imagine that the Gunners will be looking to get rid of their summer signing after just a few months.
Arsenal do need to do something with their goalkeepers in January, that’s for sure.
