'Not giving up': Romano says club are desperate to sign 'incredible' Arsenal player, have fresh talks planned

Turkish outfit Galatasaray have now planned fresh talks to try and convince Lucas Torreira to join them from Arsenal.

Fabrizio Romano says that they are desperate to sign the 26-year-old midfielder and are not giving up despite the current impasse.

They have an agreement in place with Arsenal, so the issue seems to be getting Torreira to agree to join them before the end of the transfer window.

It has been clear all summer that Torreira will not be a part of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal plans for the season ahead, which kicks off against Crystal Palace tomorrow night.

Galatasaray have fresh Torreira talks planned

Romano said earlier this week that there are other clubs trying to hijack the deal to take Torreira to Turkey.

The longer the wait goes on for his move to Galatasaray to be confirmed, the more encouragement those clubs will get that a swoop can be done.

But the Turkish side currently seem to be in the box seat and will hope that the fresh round of talks can bring the negotiations to a conclusion.

Torreira, branded as ‘incredible’ by Bernd Leno, was really impressive in Florence last season with Fiorentina on loan.

Almost everybody expected Fiorentina to take up the option in his loan deal to make his move permanent, but the Italian outfit, surprisingly, decided against it.

Since then, Torreira’s future has been up in the air, and he will be hoping that it can get sorted in the not too distant future.

He does not seem to be short on suitors, but it is in everyone’s best interest that the situation is sorted soon, given major leagues are now starting their seasons.
