Marvin Ducksch will not leave for Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United or Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest.

That is according to Werder Bremen sporting director Clemens Fritz.

So, what has been said about Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest target Marvin Ducksch? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Marvin Ducksch from Werder Bremen in the January transfer window.

According to SkySport Germany journalist Christian Falk this week, Newcastle are interested in signing Ducksch.

BILD has claimed that Forest are showing interest in the 29-year-old Germany international striker.

Ducksch is rated very highly. Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann considers him “a good finisher” whose “set pieces are very good”.

Werder sporting director Clemens Fritz has said that the club do not plan to offload the striker in the middle of the season.

Fritz told Bild: “A winter transfer is not an option for us.”

Newcastle are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League. Manager Eddie Howe is doing a wonderful job, although there is speculation about his future.

Forest’s main objective this season has to be to avoid the dreaded drop to the Championship.

Newcastle United should bid for Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch

In my opinion, if Newcastle United are really determined to sign Marvin Ducksch, then they should make a bid for the Werder Bremen striker.

True, Werder do not want to sell the 29-year-old. After all, they are in danger of getting relegated from the Bundesliga.

After all, money talks. Every player has their price. I believe that if Newcastle made a big offer for the striker in January, then it would be hard for Werder to turn it down.

Ducksch has scored five goals and given three assists in 10 Bundesliga starts this season.

Last season, the striker scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 34 Bundesliga matches.
