TBR Football understands that Arsenal expect Noni Madueke to be sidelined for around six weeks after suffering a knee injury.
The 24-year-old was subbed off at half-time in the Gunners’ 1-1 draw with Manchester City, leaving fans confused at his early withdrawal.
It has since emerged that he was taken off by Mikel Arteta after suffering a knee injury, which is not believed to be an ACL, but is set to see him miss several matches.
Madueke has proven many wrong following his start to life at the Emirates Stadium, in which he has impressed after Bukayo Saka’s injury.

Exclusive: Noni Madueke set to miss around 11 matches for Arsenal
Noni Madueke is set to miss around 11 matches for Arsenal following his knee injury suffered against Pep Guardiola’s side, sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey.
That would see him miss six Premier League fixtures during that spell, including games against Newcastle United, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Sunderland.
However, his return date could be just after the October international break, with their first game back being the North London derby at the Emirates Stadium.
Madueke, whom Arsenal signed for £52m, will be gutted at the timing of the injury, given the form he was showing for both club and country.
Speaking about the situation, Bailey told TBR Football: “Arsenal were confident on Sunday that the injury was not an ACL, but tests had to be done.
“It is not a sense of relief, but I’m told one of frustration for the player who had been showing great form for club and country since his move.”
Ultimately, it is not awful news for the North London club as first feared, but losing such an in-form player for several weeks is certainly a disappointment.
Max Dowman should be handed the opportunity to shine for Arsenal
If there is anything positive to come from this update, it is that Max Dowman should be handed the opportunity to shine for Arsenal.
Arteta will need to be wary of overplaying Saka, who has only just returned from injury himself, and he cannot afford to lose him again.
Therefore, giving Dowman plenty of minutes off the bench and possibly even a few starts could be great for the teenager.
Wayne Rooney thinks Dowman will have ‘massive future’ after his Premier League debut, and he is certainly a player who knows well about lighting up the league at a young age.
