‘No’: Club say they won’t sell their ‘brilliant’ player even if Tottenham were to bid £88m for him

Eintracht Frankfurt have now said they won’t sell Tottenham Hotspur target Randal Kolo Muani for €100m [£88m] this month.

Their sporting director Markus Krosche was speaking to German outlet Sky Sport about the French forward.

Spurs are one of a number of teams who have been linked with the 24-year-old in recent weeks.

A report from Foot Mercato suggested that Tottenham were one of a number of sides looking at Kolo Muani.

The ‘brilliant’ forward has had a whirlwind six months since leaving FC Nantes on a free transfer.

He has hit the ground running in Germany, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists in 14 Bundesliga appearances.

Kolo Muani has also taken part in his maiden Champions League campaign, featuring twice against Tottenham in the competition.

An injury to Christopher Nkunku earned him a late World Cup call-up, and he nearly won France the tournament in the final moments, only being denied by Emi Martinez.

Given his exceptional form this season, it’s no surprise the likes of Tottenham are now circling.

However, Frankfurt now won’t sell Kolo Muani in January, even if a crazy bid comes in.

Frankfurt won’t sell Kolo Muani this month

Speaking to Sky Sport about the French forward, Krosche said: “No. [€100m would not be enough for Kolo Muani]

“We have made it clear that we do not want to sell any top performers. There is no reason for that. It will stay that way.

“We are a good place for young players to develop. That has changed our perception both nationally and internationally.

“We are very interesting for young and generally good players. But I would like us are not yet among the top addresses in Germany.”

Spurs are in the market for another forward this month, and Kolo Muani would have certainly fit the bill.

Capable of playing across the front line, his lightning pace and exceptional dribbling make him a nightmare to defend against.

His excessive price tag means he wouldn’t be the best option for Spurs this season.

However, they could go in for him again in the summer when Frankfurt may be more willing to find a replacement.

With Frankfurt still in the Champions League and challenging for the top four in Germany, it’s no surprise they won’t sell Kolo Muani this month.

The Frenchman seems at home in the Bundesliga, and it may take a lot to prise him away.
