‘No chance’, ‘Not buying this’: Some Man City fans react to ‘nonsense’ links with £100k-p/w Premier League ace

Some Manchester City fans were reacting after the club were linked with a transfer for Chelsea ace Reece James.

According to The Athletic, the Citizens have added the fullback to their wishlist. It’s thought Pep Guardiola and the club is interested in signing the England international.

After a slow start under Thomas Tuchel, the £100k-p/w defender ended the campaign as a crucial player for the German.

He was a key figure in the run to the Champions League final, starring at right centre-back in a three-man defence. The 21-year-old also played extremely well in the FA Cup final despite the Blues’ loss to Leicester City.

James proves to be an incredibly versatile figure, which would make him a great transfer for Manchester City.

As well as being able to play right-back, he can also play at centre-half and left-back.

His ability on and off the ball is somewhat similar to City’s Kyle Walker, who at the wrong end of 30-years-old may need replacing.

James wouldn’t be a bad replacement for the Sheffield-born defender, who has three more years left on his current deal.
