TBR Football understands that Newcastle United are looking to sign two new strikers this summer as they envisage Alexander Isak leaving.
Newcastle parted company with Callum Wilson when his contract expired, but with Alexander Isak increasingly likely to leave, the Magpies are now left needing no fewer than two new recruits – indeed it could be three.
Liverpool are in talks with Newcastle over a move for Isak and the player is confident that he will make the switch to Anfield this summer.
Newcastle are in talks over RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, but TBR Football can reveal the names of six other forwards they are keen on, with the potential of one or two joining alongside Sesko.

Newcastle are continuing talks with Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson but with other strikers on their radar
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can confirm that Newcastle are continuing talks over Yoane Wissa as Wilson’s replacement.
The Magpies remain hopeful of landing the Brentford man, but Tottenham also remain attentive to that situation, with Wissa keen on a change of scenery.
Then there is the Isak replacement – as TBR Football previously revealed, Sesko heads up their wanted list.
Newcastle have held lengthy talks with the Slovenian this week but they face major competition in the shape of Manchester United.
Whilst they wait for Sesko to make his decision, they are continuing talks with other targets, including Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson.
Lois Openda, Sesko’s teammate, is also a player of interest but the chances of RB Leipzig allowing two key forwards to leave in one summer are low.
We can also confirm that a number of names have been linked and been mentioned to Newcastle’s hierarchy and we can reveal Jorgen Strand Larsen, Nick Woltemade and Evanilson are among those names.
As we previously revealed, Rodrigo Muniz’s camp has also contacted Newcastle, though the likes of Leeds, Tottenham and Aston Villa have also been made aware of his availability.
“The situation with Alexander Isak is ongoing, Newcastle are naïve to the situation and as we previously revealed are looking at options,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.
“Sesko they would love to get, but again as we have said is not the only player in their sights.
“They like Watkins and Jackson, both with Premier League experience. I am told Eddie Howe is a big fan of Ollie Watkins particularly.
“But there are others. Larsen at Wolves was offered I am told earlier in the summer, whilst Evanilson’s name has been mentioned following a good debut season at Bournemouth.
“Then there is Woltemade – who was one of the stars of this summer’s European Championship – but it seems he has his heart set on a move to Bayern Munich.”

What Lois Openda and Nick Woltemade could bring to Newcastle
Fans will be aware of Sesko’s heroics for RB Leipzig and Slovenia amid the links between him and the Magpies, while Watkins, Jackson, Larsen and Evanilson all play in the Premier League.
Of the players mentioned, Openda and Woltemade are likely to be the least known among Premier League fans.
Openda plays for RB Leipzig and Belgium, and is a 25-year-old forward who can play up front, on both flanks, at No. 10, and as a second striker.
He has made 90 appearances for Leipzig, registering 41 goals and 18 assists, and has been compared to Marco Reus by the official Bundesliga website.
“Lois is a direct forward, whether playing through the middle or on the flanks,” former Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl previously said of Openda.
“He can finish with both feet and his head, and… still has huge developmental potential.”
Meanwhile, Woltemade is a 23-year-old forward who plies his trade at Stuttgart and has been capped twice for Germany.
The 6ft 6in powerhouse has 17 goals and three assists from 33 Stuttgart outings, and has been compared to VfB cult hero Sasa Kaladjzic.
‘Nicknamed ‘Woltemessi’ by teammates as a result of his nimble footwork and perhaps unexpected dribbling ability, Woltemade’s style of play more closely represents that of former Stuttgart favourite Kalajdzic,’ wrote the Bundesliga website.
‘The pair are similar in terms of height (Kalajdzic stands at 6’7″), while Woltemade’s superb close control, athleticism and ability to spot an opening in defensive rear guards is not all that dissimilar to the Austrian, who once scored 24 goals and provided 12 assists at VfB.’
