Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon seems impressed with how one Arsenal player has developed over the last few years.

The Gunners have a solid squad at the moment, don’t they? Mikel Arteta put his faith in a number of young players a couple of seasons ago, and they are all delivering now.

Arsenal are on top of the Premier League table and through to the last-eight of the Champions League as well. They are one of the best teams in Europe now, and everyone can see how good they are.

Gordon knows one Arsenal star very well having played with him in the past. The Newcastle attacker has now said some nice things about him.

Anthony Gordon names the Arsenal player who’s doing ‘amazing things’

Anthony Gordon was eligible to play for Scotland, but his mind was always set on representing England at international level.

The Newcastle United winger has represented the Three Lions in various age groups. He has shared the dressing room with a number of hugely talented players over the years.

One of them is Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.

Gordon revealed that the Gunners’ number seven was his teammate at youth level a few years ago, and it’s very nice that they’ve now got the opportunity to represent England at senior level.

The former Everton man also praised Saka for his ‘amazing’ development since those youth team days.

He said, as relayed on Hayters TV: “I played with Bukayo, very young that might have been – U17s-U18s – can’t really remember when, but Bukayo may be the only one from that team in this team currently.

“We also have some very good players who may get in the squad in the future, but Bukayo is the only one. We actually spoke about this the other day, just how far we’ve come, it’s a great achievement for both of us.

“He has gone on to do amazing things and I’m just coming into the squad now. It’s just really good to see that journey.”

Arsenal receive Saka boost ahead of Manchester City clash

Arsenal’s next game in the Premier League is against Manchester City, and many people think the title will be decided on that day.

Mikel Arteta has already beaten Pep Guardiola once this season, and he did that without Bukayo Saka, who missed the game due to an injury.

To avoid a repeat of that, Saka, who has a minor muscle issue, has been sent home from the England squad as a precaution. He will not play in the Three Lions’ upcoming games, and that is a big boost for Arsenal.

Saka will get over a week’s break now. That should help him recharge and be ready to go when Manchester City host Arsenal next Sunday.
