Newcastle transfer: Some fans react as report hints Magpies could offer 24-year-old to Arsenal

A number of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Chronicle concerning Freddie Woodman and a potential swap deal with Arsenal in the transfer window.

Of course, the Magpies’ priority in this window appears to be striking another deal for Joe Willock.

Willock was incredible while on Tyneside. He scored in each of his final seven appearances for Steve Bruce’s side.

It was recently claimed that Bruce is set to have £50 million to spend this summer. But he may need £30 million of that to land Willock permanently.

According to the Chronicle, the Magpies could offer Arsenal the chance to take Woodman in a swap deal. They reportedly value the goalkeeper at £10 million.

Woodman is reportedly a player Arsenal are interested in. But it remains to be seen what the Gunners would make of such a bid.

It appears that it may divide some Newcastle fans if Woodman does leave as part of a deal for Willock.

The 24-year-old has been hugely impressive for Swansea over the last couple of years. And some think that he is destined for a fantastic career.

For that reason, they have implored Newcastle not to let him go.

Others however, have insisted that it is the best option for all parties. Woodman is unlikely to be first-choice at Newcastle anytime soon.

Signing Willock meanwhile, could be massive for the Magpies. So if that is going to become easier by using Woodman, then plenty would be in favour of a deal.
