Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is scrambling around for signings to improve his injury hit squad and has reportedly been offered former Lille star, Xeka.
Howe has seen his squad hit hard by injuries as the Mags become the latest club to see a surge in problems with key players.
A move for Ruben Neves has been discussed but that could be blocked by a new upcoming vote among Premier League clubs and chairmen.
However, according to TeamTalk, other options are on the table and Newcastle have reportedly been offered the chance to sign free-agent, Xeka.

Xeka, now 29, is without a club after seeing his contract with Rennes come to an end in the summer. He has been linked with Arsenal in the past, and very much models his game on that of German legend, Toni Kroos.
The midfielder has vast experience in Europe and could well prove a cheap stop-gap for the Mags.
Xeka is believed to have held talks with a number of clubs recently but as yet, hasn’t signed for anyone, leaving the door ajar for a move to the Northeast.
Newcastle offered chance to sign Xeka as emergency signing
A number of clubs always had this fear as far back as the World Cup last winter. There was a worry that players would feel overworked going into this current season and the amount of injuries suggests it is an issue.
For Newcastle, they are now being shown up as having a fairly thin squad compared to some of those in and around them.
However, sympathy will be sparse really. This is a club with huge money available and they have invested a lot over the last few windows.
The issue with Sandro Tonali has not helped their cause as we know. But Eddie Howe still has enough at his disposal to ensure the Toon stay in the mix.
Other clubs are just as worse off at the moment and Newcastle will just have to make do. Xeka would be a decent enough option. But in all honesty, he’d just be a squad filler taking a wage once the injury hit players do return
