Newcastle United are looking to push on in their pursuit of a new striker and could now make a new move for French striker, Hugo Ekitike.
The Mags were heavily linked with a move for Ekitike some time ago but the young striker eventually decided to sign for PSG instead. Indeed, it was reported that Ekitike even admitted he’d have signed for the Toon, had it now been for PSG.
However, his spell in Paris hasn’t gone great and he’s been tipped to move on in January. West Ham have been credited with an interest in Ekitike but according to 90Min, it is Newcastle who could now push.

90Min reports how Newcastle have apparently already started the process of seeing how feasible a loan deal for the young striker is.
The Mags are without both Alex Isak and Callum Wilson at the moment and Eddie Howe is desperate to strengthen in January.
Newcastle want to sign Hugo Ekitike
Ekitike has made just a single appearance this season and managed only four goals all last season.
But that doesn’t seem to have put off Howe and Newcastle, who are keen to see a new striker arrive at the club in the winter.
Isak and Wilson’s injuries are a big problem for the Toon and it’s left them exposed in terms of attacking options.
Ekitike, despite his poor record in front of goal in the last 12 months, has been lauded as an ‘amazing talent’ by journalists over in France and the potential is there for all to see.
Clearly, Eddie Howe feels he can get something out of the striker if he moves to St James’ Park and the attraction of his pace will be something that appeals to the Toon boss.
