Newcastle United are reportedly ready to beat Borussia Dortmund to Stade Rennais teenager Desire Doue.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in all of France, with Doue earning comparisons to the likes of Wayne Rooney during his early years at Everton.
Having made over 50 senior appearances already for Rennes, it’s clear that Doue is a special talent and a forward who could end up in the Premier League at his current pace.

And according to L’Equipe, Newcastle are ready to beat Dortmund to Doue’s signature, even with the Magpies limited by FFP restrictions this January.
With a reported £12m asking price, Newcastle landing Doue would be quite the coup for the Toon given how highly rated the teenage attacker is in Ligue 1.
Yet with FFP restrictions severely limiting what Newcastle can actually do, Dortmund could sense an opportunity to lure Doue to Germany, a move that arguably could be better for the youngster.
Newcastle need to clear FFP issues to sign Desire Doue

Doue is clearly one of the most exciting talents in all of Europe having already establishing himself as a key player for a top French side in Rennes.
And for Newcastle, missing out on the 18-year-old would be viewed by many as a massive blow, with Doue a prospect could play for the Magpies for years.
Yet with FFP limiting Newcastle’s options this January, clearing the issues could be what’s needed for the Toon to beat Dortmund to Doue’s signature.
Moreover, showing such intent to sign the Frenchman will be appealing to Doue, who could then favour a move to Newcastle because of such actions.
