Newcastle United are apparently looking to move Kieran Trippier on this month as they bid to wheel and deal in the transfer window.

Reports this morning had suggested Bayern Munich now hold an interest in signing Trippier from Newcastle.

The German giants only signed Harry Kane in the summer and Eric Dier last week but now look like they’re targeting yet another England player.

However, Bayern could face competition for Trippier, with Newcastle apparently shopping him about to English clubs as well.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Newcastle have actually offered Trippier to Premier League clubs in a bid to free up some money in the current window.

Taking to X on social media, Plettenberg revealed the news on £12m signing Trippier.

Trippier moving on would almost certainly open the door for Newcastle to make more signings, with a number of midfielders being linked with a move.

Trippier move within England would be strange

While Trippier might not be having his best season in black and white a few mistakes have crept into his game, he remains a class act.

It’s hard to imagine this current Newcastle side without him in it in all honesty. Such has been his impact since moving from Atletico.

Trippier going to Bayern would make sense a little bit and you could argue a move to the German club is too good to turn down at this stage in his career.

However, the thought of him being offered to other PL clubs seems an odd one.

Yes, Newcastle need to free up money to try and sign a midfielder but there are surely better options than Trippier if that is the plan.

Right now, Newcastle fans would surely be fuming if the England full-back went and whoever he signs for in England, would be improving their squad.
