Bayern Munich are looking to the Premier League again it seems, this time with Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier on their wanted list.

Trippier has been one of Newcastle’s standout players in the Eddie Howe era and despite a few mistakes this season, remains key to the Toon.

However, reports from TalkSPORT this morning have suggested that Bayern Munich are now looking at whether or not a deal to bring Trippier to Germany would be possible.

And taking to social media just now, German journalist Florian Plettenberg has offered an update on the Trippier and Bayern situation.

Taking to his X account just now on socials, Sky Sports Germany journalist Plettenberg offered up his take on the current situation regarding Trippier.

Of course, Plettenberg comes with a good reputation for big news stories concerning Bayern, given he was one of the very first to break the news on Harry Kane going there last summer.

Newcastle have problems in terms of FFP and not being able to spend this month. Quite what a move for Trippier to Bayern would do to alleviate any of that, is up for debate.

Bayern could tempt the England man

Trippier has shown in the past he isn’t afraid to make a big decision and he moved abroad to do the business with Atletico Madrid in the past.

Right now, his focus is probably on helping Newcastle out of their mini slump and getting them back on track.

However, at his age and if a move to Bayern does come along, it could be hard to turn down.

We’ve seen Kane go and Eric Dier follow recently and Trippier might see a move to a global giant as just too good an opportunity to turn his back on.

Bayern, as we know, have a confidence in the market and it would be no surprise at all if they somehow got this one done.
