The Daily Mail reports that Mike Ashley is reluctant to pay £4 million for the Gabon international, who was first linked back in April. It is claimed that he is less willing to pay a fee for players over the age of 27.

Lemina – who turns 28 in September – is out of contract at Southampton next summer.

The Daily Mail notes that Newcastle would be interested in a swap deal for Lemina. However, the Saints are not keen on the players who could move in the opposite direction.

Lemina has had a very mixed time in the Premier League. On his day, he has looked an outstanding talent. Saints fans have occasionally been reminded of why Juventus previously signed him.

However, he has impressed nowhere near often enough. And of course, Fulham were relegated while he was on loan.

‘Worrying’: Newcastle fans concerned by Lemina reports

Admittedly, Lemina has struggled at times. However, the latest reports have worried many Newcastle fans.

And the supporters fear what their reluctance to pay for Lemina may mean for the rest of their window.

Here is how some of the fans reacted to the reports…
