Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has emerged as an option for Leeds, as the Whites look to sign a goalkeeper. The Yorkshire club have just sent Kiko Casilla to Spanish side Elche on a loan-to-buy basis. Newcastle fans want their club to keep Woodman away from the clutches of Leeds.
Woodman, 24, has struggled to break into Newcastle’s side over the past few seasons – with both Karl Darlow and Martin Dubravka ahead of him. Again, he looks as though he may ace a fight on his hands. The same fight that has seen him loaned to Swansea for the last two seasons.
Clocking up 95 games for the Championship club, Woodman has kept an amazing 34 clean sheets. While he could not help Swansea gain promotion to the Premier League, he has been brilliant for the Welsh side – helping them achieve two play-off finishes. Last term, he kept 22 clean sheets.

What have Newcastle fans said about Leeds wanting Woodman?
Now, the YEP report that Woodman is one of three goalkeepers Leeds want to act as cover for Illan Meslier. While it remains to be seen if Woodman would be open to joining Leeds and playing second fiddle to Meslier, he could leave the Toon. Leeds have shortlisted two others.
Kristoffer Klaesson of Valerenga and Dani Cardenas of Levante are other options, but Woodman stands out as the best option. A previous Chronicle report suggested Newcastle would entertain £10million offers. Amid interest from Leeds, Newcastle fans think he needs to be kept.
