Newcastle are reportedly in talks to sign Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey with The Old Lady desperate to offload the expensive Welshman. While signed on a free from Arsenal, Ramsey’s wages are enormous. Newcastle want him back in English football – and Toon fans have reacted on Twitter.

Ramsey, 30, joined Juventus in the summer of 2019 from Arsenal on a free transfer. But since then, he has scored just six goals in 65 games for Juve. On a massive contract, the 67-time Wales international is a player Juve are keen to move on. Newcastle could end up bringing him to Tyneside.

Goal report that Newcastle are in talks to sign Ramsey. A previous report from TuttoJuve claims that interested parties would have to spend in the region of £10million to sign Ramsey. The midfielder would certainly be an excellent signing for the Toon – but do they stand a chance of getting him?

Mike Ashley’s unwillingness to spend lots of money this summer rules out a permanent move for Ramsey – even if Juve want just £10million. His wages are too much. But if Newcastle want him on loan, perhaps a deal could be arranged in which the Toon only pay a small portion of his wages.
