Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing a surprise move to sign Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr – and Toon fans have reacted on Twitter.
Sarr, 23, has been incredible for Watford since joining the club in 2019. In his first season, he had a hand in 11 Premier League goals – scoring six.
Relegation saw Sarr remain with Watford despite plenty of interest. The Senegal international adapted, and proved pivotal in immediate promotion.
He netted 13 times in 39 Championship outings, also laying on 10 assists. That form has continued this season, with four goals in nine league games.
That form has not gone unnoticed. Newcastle’s new owners have identified Sarr as the man they want in January, as their first signing.
The Mail claim Sarr, though, could cost as much as £100million. Watford see Sarr having similar potential to that of Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

What are Newcastle fans saying about Watford sensation Sarr?
Newcastle need a right winger, among numerous positions. But obviously, it is important not to bring in players where they are already boasting quality.
Up front, Callum Wilson is an excellent option – while Allan Saint-Maximin is one of the Premier League’s best left-wingers. A right-winger is needed.
Newcastle ideally need a right winger, another centre-back, and a holding midfielder. Sarr would certainly cover the right flank for Newcastle.
But will the Toon spend as much as £100m? Newcastle fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports, urging their club to sign the £32m (Goal) signing.
