Newcastle United are reportedly in talks to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona on a free transfer – and Toon fans have responded on Twitter.
Dembele, 24, is yet to play a single minute for Barcelona this season. The injury-prone winger is expected to leave, with his contract due to expire.
The France international is expected to leave Barca on a free, with non-Spanish sides available to organise a pre-contract from January 1.
That seems to be what Newcastle’s new owners are planning. Foot Mercato say that talks are ongoing to sign Dembele on a free transfer, next summer.
The report claims that Dembele wants a five-year deal, worth an enormous £244,000-a-week. That, along with a signing-on fee of £12.7million.

What are Newcastle fans saying about a potential Dembele move?
Newcastle to have options out wide. Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy are often used on the right, while Matt Ritchie is also a winger.
Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton are left-wingers – or strikers. But ultimately, Dembele is an improvement on all the aforementioned players.
He creates magic from nothing, scores and creates goals. The issue with Dembele is his injury record, with his hamstrings proving to a problem.
If Newcastle can get him fit and keep him on the pitch, then he will be a sensational addition. Newcastle fans are in agreement on Twitter.
