Newcastle fans discuss Edin Dzeko transfer reports on Twitter

A number of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from the weekend claiming that Edin Dzeko is one of the strikers the Magpies have on their radar ahead of the January transfer window.

Dzeko only moved to Inter Milan in the summer following an outstanding spell with Roma. He scored 119 goals in 260 appearances for the Giallorossi.

And he has taken little time to find his feet at San Siro. The 35-year-old is already into double figures across Serie A and the Champions League. He has eight goals in the top flight and three in Europe.

Interestingly, it would appear that he may be offered the chance to be on the move just a few months after joining the Nerazzurri.

The Sun reported over the weekend that Newcastle were eyeing a £6 million loan move for Anthony Martial. But they were also interested in a potential push to sign Dzeko.

Dzeko is certainly edging towards the end of his career. However, he is still finding the back of the net on a consistent basis.

For that reason, several Newcastle fans have insisted that he would be an amazing coup for the club during the January transfer window.

Some accept however, that the Magpies probably have little chance of luring him away. Inter are right in the mix to retain their Serie A title this season. So it would be a surprise if he was willing to trade the business end in Italy for a relegation battle in the Premier League.
