Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White in the January transfer window.
That is according to The Telegraph, which has named the midfielder Newcastle are looking to replace with Gibbs-White.
So, what has been reported about Newcastle United and Morgan Gibbs-White? Let’s take a look.
Newcastle United linked with Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White
Well, Newcastle United are interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, according to The Telegraph.
The report has noted that there is interest from Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab in Miguel Almiron. So, Newcastle are looking at Gibbs-White as a potential replacement for the Paraguayan midfielder.

The Telegraph has claimed that Newcastle “could try” to replace Almiron with Gibbs-White and has noted that the Magpies’ recruitment team have scouted the 23-year-old “extensively” this season.
Gibbs-White is rated very highly. Newcastle legend Alan Shearer described the midfielder as “a really good prospect” when he was at Wolverhampton Wanderers, noting that the youngster “looks very comfortable on the ball”. Tottenham Hotspur are scouting him.
My View: Nottingham Forest unlikely to sell Morgan Gibbs-White in January
In my view, Newcastle United would be unable to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.
I do not think that Forest are going to sell the £25 million (Sky Sports) midfielder this month. After all, he is one of the Reds’ best and most important players, and Nuno’s side are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Gibbs-White has made 18 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Forest this season. The 23-year-old English midfielder has scored two goals and given three assists in those games.
Of course, we know that in football money talks, but I do not see Forest selling Gibbs-White for anything less than a ridiculous transfer fee.
